Additional endorsements for Jim King for Mayor show continued momentum

Louisville, KY – The Jim King for Mayor campaign announced today two additional elected officials that are endorsing King’s campaign for Mayor of Louisville. Metro Councilwoman Marianne Butler from the 15th Metro Council District and Metro Councilman George Unseld from the 6th Metro Council District have both signed on to support King’s efforts to become Louisville’s next Mayor.
“As our campaign to bring Louisville together continues, I am humbled by the support of leaders like Councilwoman Butler and Councilman Unseld. I’ve worked with them on the Metro Council to improve the quality of life and enhance public safety for all Louisvillian’s, and I hope to continue those efforts from the Mayor’s office with them.”
The elected officials gave testimony as to how they came to the decision to endorse King for Mayor:
“The people of Louisville are dealing with tough economic times. Families and government are in the leanest of times and struggling to meet basic needs. We need Jim King”

Councilman King was born in Louisville’s St. Joseph’s neighborhood and raised in the nearby Highlands community. After building many successful businesses, he went on to serve as the Metro Councilman for Louisville’s 10th Council District. He was elected Vice-Chairman of the Democratic Caucus in 2005, Democratic Caucus Chairman in 2006 and 2007, Metro Council President in 2008 and Metro Council Budget Chair in 2009 and 2010.
Jim is married to his wife, Debbie and together have four children and eight grandchildren, all still living in Louisville.
